I'm Sharna and welcome to my one stop party shop Sweet Retreat New Zealand.

I have been a passionate cake maker since way back to when I could lick the spoon. Combined with my love of art (and skillful talent), what started as a hobby led me to creating the most delectable and visually stunning confections I could make. I became the one-of-a-kind cake designer behind Sweet Retreat NZ!

I'm a mother of three and have been a professional cake maker for 5 years now, with my registered kitchen based in Riverhead, Auckland.

With a keen eye for detail and a dedication to using only the finest ingredients, Sweet Retreat NZ has earned a reputation for creating edible works of art that tantalize the taste buds and delight the senses. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply craving a sweet treat, Sweet Retreat NZ is here to make your dessert dreams a reality!

Now if you're thinking we are just another cake business in town YOURE WRONG! 

My years of horse riding coaching combined with a true passion and developed understanding within cake decorating lead me to begin cake decorating classes. Catering for all ages and all levels, I decided to take my knowledge and teach others how to do it, tips and tricks, and also provide fun, entertaining classes for everyone to give it a go.

But it doesn't stop there! After having kids of my own and hosting three birthday parties per year, I quickly realized just how much work is involved in planning these events. As parents, we want to make these special days memorable, but with what time? First organising the cake, then food, then entertainment, the list goes on and that's a lot of different businesses you need to search for and book.

 

So we bought two bouncy castles which now covered the entertainment and cake/treats aspects of parties! It was only normal to begin hiring out these castles for other kids to enjoy too! 

 

Following this, another NEW element of Sweet Retreat was born. What we have called the FOOD FIESTA! It is our way of turning catering into an extravagant feast so now you also have the food sorted for your events. And just like that, the one stop party shop was formed to organize everything you need for your next event or party WOOHOO!
